Maintenance & Repair - Plumber Crew Leader

Duties

: Under the supervision of the Maintenance and Repair Foreman, the Maintenance & Repair - Plumber Crew Leader will be responsible for:

• In the absence of the Foreman, the Plumber Crew Leader is to be in charge of planning work and supervising workmen assigned.
• Maintain and repair facilities that require plumbing, electrical, or other specialties as directed.
• Perform the repair and installation of plumbing, electrical equipment, building foundations, and other construction. Prepare estimates of material and labor costs as directed.
• Supervise and perform the repair and installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures.
• Keep accurate records of all labor and materials costs of work performed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the work area and assigned vehicle.
• Requisition supplies and equipment as required.
• Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

:

• Ability to reach, walk, pull, kneel, squat, and bend at the waist and knees.
• Ability to manipulate tools as needed to complete job duties.
• Ability to operate vibratory tools as needed to complete job duties.
• Ability to balance on ladders and uneven surfaces.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
• Ability to distinguish colors relative to electrical wiring.
• Ability to detect noxious odors relative to job duties.
• Ability to understand and complete record keeping and paperwork relative to job duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Education

: A high school diploma required.

Experience

: Two years experience in construction or maintenance repair work. Work experience with plumbing, irrigation, and electrical systems is required.

Licensure

: Must maintain a valid Illinois Department of Health State Plumbing License.
