Definition

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing fully skilled plumbing work, such as alterations, maintenance, and repairs of plumbing and related systems; performs related duties as required. Examples of Work --------------------

(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)* Performs work on all parts of a plumbing system; * Replaces, installs, and maintains gas, water, steam, waste, and sewer pipes; * Installs, replaces, maintains and repairs chemical feed and supply lines and distribution equipment; * Sets fixtures; installs pumps, valves, controls, and miscellaneous fittings; * Performs preventative maintenance and/or testingon plumbing and related systems; * Does acetylene welding as required; * Performs or assists on other related building trades work; * Maintains and repairs plumbing equipment and tools; * Estimates time, costs, and materials required; maintains records of work performed; * Performs the installation and maintenance of kitchen equipment, such as garbage disposals and dishwashers; * Winterizes and de-winterizes plumbing systems; * May drive light truck to and from work site; * May supervise a helper.

Minimum Qualifications

--------------------------

Two (2) years of plumbing experience which included the maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures and fittings. Substitution(s): Possession of a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship in plumbing issued by the U.S. Department of Labor or the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Some positions may require a valid State of Ohio Backflow Certification.
