Job Summary/Scope

Performs difficult general maintenance work on park amenities, grounds and facilities. May be assigned intermittent supervisory responsibilities involving small work crews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Responsible for plumbing and HVAC systems and components. * Opens parks and stabilize all plumbing for Spring & Summer months. * Closes parks and winterizes all plumbing for Winter months. * Checks and maintains the parks, drinking fountains, water lines, hose bibs and restroom facilities. * Checks and maintains heating/cooling systems, boilers, water heaters and air conditioning units. * Checks and maintains the swimming pool water systems by calibrating and monitoring the proper chemical balance of the pools. * Checks and maintains parks irrigation systems. * Installs new equipment and amenities. * Repairs and renovates all existing amenities, facilities, and grounds. * Operates equipment such as mowers, trucks, tractors, chainsaws, forklift, bobcat, boom truck and other equipment used in the maintenance of parks.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

* Secures all park facilities and buildings as necessary. * Prepares material lists and order supplies for work projects. * Performs inspections of park facilities. * May be required to work with or supervise inmates. * Performs all other duties as assigned.
