Description of Work

Salary Range: $39,244-$68,679 Salary Grade:NC08

This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates.

Position performs journey duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems. Routine work assignments are in the nature of location of needed repair, and assignments involving work of special or unusual nature are accompanied by specific instructions. This position will report to Facility Maintenance Supervisor.

KEY DUTIES

• Install, maintain, and repair water, gas, air, and waste disposal systems.
• Diagnose plumbing issues, locate leaks or malfunctions, and perform necessary repairs efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes to plan and complete installations.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on pipes, fixtures, valves, and related equipment.
