Plumber

The Plumber installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing, heating, and electromechanical systems on campus buildings and facilities.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $28.98 - $34.05 per hour.

Core Responsibilities

* Performs maintenance and repair of various facilities as indicated on daily work orders; orders materials needed to complete jobs; lays out and installs plumbing to comply with plumbing codes. * Performs testing procedures to troubleshoot electromechanical systems on campus building equipment. * Repairs and maintains laundry equipment. * Assists with installation, maintenance and repair of boilers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning systems and gas fueled equipment. * Maintains fire protection equipment * Performs associated Facilities Services maintenance work as requested, including, but not limited to: snow removal, event set-up and clean-up, truck loading and unloading, grounds maintenance. * Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors. Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with Middlebury College and departmental policies and procedures. *

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; License or ability to obtain Propane and Natural Gas certifications, Oil heat silver technical training or ability to obtain.
• Must be a licensed Master Plumber. Knowledge of refrigeration, gas and electrical systems preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of progressively complex experience in Plumbing trade is required; 10 years is preferred.
• Must have driver's license, clean driving record, and vehicle for transportation of self, tools and for procuring small materials.
• Furnishes own hand tools for plumbing/mechanical work.
