GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Performs plumbing trade work in the construction, maintenance and repair of assigned county property, structures and equipment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

• Performs installation, modification to plumbing systems to include construction & maintenance repairs on commercial, facilities, equipment and other county property and parks.
• Reads blueprint drawings, specifications, and technical drawings to determine the layout and installation requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot plumbing issue, including leaks, clogs, and malfunctions and implement solutions for repair.
• Works, engages and communicates with contractors and employees performing general or specialized work throughout the county; assists and supports contractors in maintenance and plumbing repair work.
• Operates various hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools and equipment (i.e., drills, pipe cutters, torches, and propresses).
• Maintains accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked and submit required documents on time.
• Repairs and installs fuel systems and lines for underground fuel storage tanks and Malathion tanks.
• Performs maintenance and repair on gas lines in county buildings.
• Maintains and ensures the safe operating condition of assigned equipment, tools and vehicles, according to established department policy and sound trade practices.
• Assists in assigning and monitoring tasks for subordinate staff.
• Reports any detected deterioration, repair needs and/or maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Operates heavy equipment as necessary.
• Performs general tasks of other trades as needed.
• Assists with the planning, estimating and coordination of tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
