Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer/Designer

SFCS is seeking a Plumbing / Fire Protection Designer to join our Roanoke, Virginia office. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and planners in a multidisciplinary environment while designing plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of impactful projects.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, mid-level, plumbing and fire protection design professional who enjoys developing practical, code-compliant building systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering innovative design solutions from concept through construction. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound technical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Systems, Construction Technology, or a related discipline preferred. * Experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, healthcare, senior living, education, government, or other institutional facilities. * Strong knowledge of national plumbing codes, building codes, and applicable NFPA standards. * Experience performing plumbing and fire protection system layouts, hydraulic calculations, piping sizing, and equipment selection. * Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (Revit preferred). * Experience with HydraCAD and HydraCALC is preferred. * ASPE Certified in Plumbing...
