Plumbing Project Designer | Seattle, WA

IMEG is hiring a Plumbing Project Designer in Seattle, Washington, to lead plumbing and fire protection design efforts for moderate complexity projects and support larger, high-complexity project delivery in collaboration with senior staff. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and client guidance, with responsibilities spanning analysis, design, and implementation oversight of building systems. You’ll also support project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across functions to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing and fire protection system analysis and design efforts for moderate complexity projects
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
• Partner with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain strong professional relationships
• Support consulting project execution through planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives
• Document design decisions, client instructions, and project progress, including percent complete and fee expended
• Analyze engineering challenges and develop practical, efficient solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants
• Perform in-process reviews of plumbing and fire protection designs, calculations, and specifications while applying IMEG quality control processes
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in plumbing engineering, and contribute to research and innovation efforts
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with plumbing systems
