Job Description
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaches full-time to students in grades 9-12.Demonstrates knowledge of safe working practices and equipment used in industry related to engineering.Demonstrates familiarity with all learning strands in the MA Chapter 74 Curriculum Frameworks issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.Delivers instruction to students in accordance with the MA Chapter 74 Curriculum FrameworksGrades and monitors student progress through the use of progress reports, report cards, and student competency lists.Contacts parents to notify them of their students' progress both positive and concerning, whenever necessary.Collaborates with program advisory, industry partners and post-secondary instructors to identify opportunities for instructional/curriculum improvements, co-operative learning placements or articulation agreements.Attends special education Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, where the teacher's presence is required.Follow all instructional guidelines and practices as required by the teacher contract.Carries out other duties as assigned by the Superintendent-Director.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position may require long periods of standing and lifting up to 50lbs. The teacher may also be required to operate hand tools and motor equipment and may work in confined spaces with exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, and gases.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten-month, school year position (183 days).Initial salary will be established by the Superintendent-Director in accordance with the Teachers Contract.Fringe benefits as outlined in the Teachers Contract.EVALUATION: As per the Teachers Contract.
