Plumbing Technician (Park Ops Plumber)

JOB The Plumbing Tech works on site at various BREC facilities to repair, maintain, alter, and create new plumbing systems, including water lines, drain lines, gas lines, air lines, sprinkler systems, gas heaters, water heaters, drinking fountains. The work is largely independent and subject to periodic inspection and checks. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Education Required: H. S. Diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred: Vo-tech school diploma or Associates degree, or completion of recognized apprenticeship program.

License(s) Required

Valid LA Driver's License. Preferred: Licensed Plumber

Years Relevant Work Experience

3 years of work related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Preferred: 10 or more years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Considerable knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems and ability to identify and correct problems * Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe operation of the trade * Ability to operate trencher/backhoe * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions * Ability to read and write the English language * Ability to operate and transport mini-excavators, backhoes and other digging equipment. * Ability to read blueprints * Must have a positive attitude with the willingness and desire to learn new skills * Ability to adjust to changing work demands, procedures, technology, and/or priorities * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION As scheduled, generally 40 hours per week; lunch break daily; overtime as required. Emergency evening or weekend work on occasion.
