Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with theAssembly of pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
• Assist with the filling of pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
• Assist withLocating and marking the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
• Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, appliances, and trim.
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and grade.
• Read blueprints and drawings
• Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes and safety.
• Can Perform most task unsupervised but may need some guidance.
• Ability to Direct helper(s) to assist with cutting and installing of pipe, fixtures or equipment.
• Has all hand tools required for the trade
