Kim Industries is a Northeast regional leader in mechanical insulation and firestopping. Our work consists mostly on large corporate facilities, pharmaceutical , university, Healthcare and semi-conductor buildings .

About the Position

We are seeking a detailed and motivated Junior Estimator to join our Mechanical Insulation and Firestopping Team. The candidate would provide on-screen take-offs to assist senior estimators in bid preparation for commercial projects.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review mechanical plans, specifications, and addenda to prepare detailed quantity take-offs.
• Clarify scope of work and forward RFI’s for any specification and/or plan ambiguity
• Utilize estimating software to perform on-screen take-offs and generate cost estimates.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and project documentation.
• Assist in preparing bid packages and proposals.
• Participation in pre-bid meetings
• Minimal site visits may be required to prepare change estimates on existing projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry trade preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with estimating software and digital take-off tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• In-house training with room for advancement based on proficiency

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
