Experienced Pipefitter/ Working Superintendent

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Working Superintendent to oversee and actively participate in the installation of a commercial Chilled Water HVAC System. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive knowledge of chilled water piping, HVAC equipment installation, project coordination, and jobsite safety. This role requires the ability to supervise field personnel while working alongside the crew to ensure quality, productivity, and schedule adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily field operations for chilled water HVAC installation.
• Perform hands-on installation work as needed, including piping, equipment setting, and system components.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Ensure installation complies with project plans, codes, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
• Maintain project schedules and identify potential delays.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Complete daily reports, manpower logs, and progress updates.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and owners to resolve field issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and productive jobsite.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of commercial HVAC construction experience.
• At least 3–5 years as a Superintendent or Foreman managing chilled water projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Chilled water piping systems
• Pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units
• Mechanical equipment installation
• Hydronic balancing and system startup
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical specifications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
