Journeyman Pipe Fitter

Job Summary

A working crew member that must take direction from foreman and train and guide Apprentices and Helpers on installation, demolition of mechanical system components, and moving of material.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

• Maintain safe working practices throughout all activities.
• Take direction on installation of duct and piping systems.
• Ability to train and direct Apprentices and Helpers on proper work practices
• Load/unload/move material such as sheet metal, piping, boxes, carts, trash, dollies, containers.
• Ability to read and understand project documents such as prints and speciation’s
• Plan for the most efficient method of installing duct and piping systems
• Participate in the Stretch and Flex program
• Understand the safe effective operation of all necessary tools
• Look for and communicate any safety issues with the foreman in each work area throughout the day

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to various jobsites
• Must adhere to safety protocol
• Must have extensive knowledge of construction hand tools
• Must have completed an apprenticeship program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 4 years construction experience
• MUST complete and pass journeyman’s test through local 421
