Job Summary

The Pipefitter is responsible for the disassembly, repair, modification, remanufacture, and troubleshooting of roadway equipment machinery used in railroad operations.

This role involves working with complex pressurized piping systems—including hydraulic, pneumatic, condensation, vacuum, and circulating pumping systems—as well as additional industrial equipment and systems as assigned. Pipefitter ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical mechanical systems that support daily activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and repair pressurized piping systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, condensation, vacuum, and circulating pumping systems used in industrial and railroad environments.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to plan system routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operational requirements.
• Select appropriate materials, stock, tools, and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform both field and shop work using pipefitter and plumber trade equipment for cutting, bending, threading, and fabricating pipe of various sizes.
