Plumber II - Jail Maintenance (Sheriff)

Position Summary

Works under limited direction to be responsible for installation and maintenance of plumbing systems.

Pay Grade: 51H

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications

* Two (2) years of plumbing experience after acquiring Journeyman license. * High school or possess a GED. PROOF OF EDUCATION; TRAINING; AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. *

Duties and Responsibilities

* Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage * systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. * Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand tools and * power tools. * Cuts and threads pipes using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe threading machine. * Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various metals and non-metals. * Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing, mending, and opening systems as required. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. *

KSAs

* Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a variety of * plumbing tools and equipment. * Knowledge of metal and non-metal piping and their properties. * Manual dexterity. * Knowledge of measurements. Ability to interpret building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations. *

Physical Requirements

Must pass a physical examination.
