Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary

---------------------

This position exists to perform routine maintenance of building components, including update or renovating for better use due to program changes. Also may involve assisting other trade workers in installation, maintenance, or repair. Identifies and provide quality customer services, and helps to provide quality support services to Larned State Hospital and Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility in pursuit of their mission.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following

Maintain and Repairs Building Plumbing Systems

• Plumbing Fixtures.
• Steam Heating Equipment.
• Gas-fired stoves and furnaces.
• Repair/remove/replace faulty components.
• Complete campus-wide PM’s as assigned.

Maintain and Repair Sewage Collection System and Water Distribution System

• Sewage pumping plant.
• Adjusting, cleaning and repairing.
• Remove/replace faulty components.

Install Fixtures and Necessary Equipment

• Restrooms
• Shower Rooms
• Kitchens

Miscellaneous Duties

• Repair metal fixtures and furnishings.
• Repair security screens.
• Repair dietary food processing equipment.
• Callback assistance.
• Subject to callback, standby, irregular hours, and scheduled weekend duty.

Training

• Backflow Testing Certification.
• Large Gas System Operators License.
• Asbestos Accreditation.
• Class 1 Water Supply System License.

Minimum Qualifications

* Valid Drivers License with no restrictions. * Two years of experience as a plumber. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. + To obtain within one year: - KDHE Class 1 Water Supply System Operator License - KDHE BAckflow Testing Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, mechanical trades, analyzing mechanical functions, and welding.
• Experience in reading and understanding written instructions and diagrams.
