Shipboard Pipefitter Supervisor

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Shipboard Pipefitter Supervisor to lead and oversee pipefitting operations on maritime vessels. This pivotal role involves supervising a team of pipefitters, ensuring all piping systems—ranging from plumbing and HVAC to fire sprinkler and pipeline systems—are installed, maintained, and repaired in accordance with strict safety standards and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction site experience, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for safety and precision. As a leader in this dynamic environment, you will coordinate complex pipe installation projects, interpret technical drawings, and ensure compliance with industry codes such as ASME standards and NFPA regulations. Your expertise will drive the successful execution of shipboard piping projects, contributing to the safety, functionality, and longevity of our vessels.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate pipefitting activities on ships, including pipe installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of various piping systems such as plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler fitting, and pipeline systems
• Lead a team of pipefitters in performing MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, soldering, tube bending, pipe threading, and other fabrication tasks with precision and adherence to safety protocols
• Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate installation aligned with project specifications
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards including ASME codes & standards and NFPA regulations for fire safety systems
• Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment to verify proper fit-up and installation of piping components
