SUPERVISOR, PLUMBING SYSTEMS,

*Repair & Maintenance*, will be responsible for managing, mentoring, motivating and holding accountable a team of plumbers; providing direction and technical expertise to staff as well as supplemental contractors; and providing planning and project management related to evaluating and prioritizing deferred and preventative maintenance necessary to optimize systems and resources in a safety conscious manner.

Job Requirements

*REQUIRED*: A valid Massachusetts Master Plumber's License with direct experience in an institutional or campus environment; a minimum of five years of related supervisory experience with plumbers, preferably in a union environment; full knowledge of all applicable state and federal plumbing codes and standards; proven ability to foster strong working relationships with City Inspection Services and local authorities; ability to effectively communicate with colleagues across the Facilities Department and with customers across the Institute in a positive, professional manner; demonstrated ability to manage work order backlog with proficiency in job planning and execution and take direction and conduct analysis independently while working problems through to resolution; in-depth knowledge of preventative maintenance standards and practices related to plumbing systems, HVAC/R plumbing systems and experience with building and underground utility systems such as compressed air, vacuum, domestic and non-potable water, softened water, sewage, clear water waste/storm drainage and steam distribution.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00AM-3:00PM; but must also be available for off-hours emergencies and standby supervisory coverage on a rotating basis on weekends and holidays.
