HVAC & Plumbing Construction Manager

Job Overview

Michael Pollitt Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC & Plumbing Construction Manager to oversee all residential and commercial installation operations. This position is responsible for managing HVAC and Plumbing installation crews from project kickoff through completion while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The Construction Manager is responsible for coordinating manpower, reviewing plans, completing estimates, obtaining change order approvals, ordering materials, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring every installation meets company expectations and applicable codes. This role works closely with builders, general contractors, suppliers, office staff, and field personnel to deliver an exceptional customer experience while maintaining profitability.

Primary ResponsibilitiesProject Management

• Manage all HVAC and Plumbing installation projects from start to completion.
• Coordinate daily schedules for all installation crews.
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and communicate delays immediately.
• Monitor labor hours and job costs to maintain profitability.
• Conduct job site visits to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and cleanliness.
• Ensure jobs are completed according to plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.

Estimating & Change Orders

• Prepare accurate estimates for new construction projects, change orders, and additional work requests.
• Review blueprints and specifications before estimating.
• Ensure all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and miscellaneous items are included in estimates.
• Obtain written approval for every change order from the contractor, builder, or customer before any additional work begins.
• Maintain documentation of all approved change orders.

Material Management

• Order all materials required for each project.
• Verify that materials ordered match the approved plans and job specifications.
