Responsibilities

Operates maintains and repairs equipment and facilities such as: high, medium and low pressure steam piping systems and boilers at outlying properties; domestic hot and cold water systems; pure water systems (deionized and distilled); storm, sanitary and acid waste sewer systems; natural and other gas systems; fire protection systems and swimming pool systems; and repairs, replaces and installs piping systems; installs pipe insulation. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:May guide and direct the work of and train lower classified personnel.MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:Welding and soldering equipment, saws and cutters, pipe benders and threaders, meter, other steamfitter and plumber tools and other equipment required on the job.
