GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing complex skilled and technical

work in the repair, maintenance and installation of building water and sewer systems, fixtures and

equipment. Serves as a lead worker. Reports to the Operations Superintendent- Building Services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Troubleshoots , repairs and installs water and sewer systems; designs and re-designs systems to meet

national and state code; performs inspections and tests on plumbing equipment and systems. Repairs

and replaces water heaters and recirculating pumps; clears stoppages in drains and sewers.

Operates assigned service vehicle, maintains inventory of spare parts and initiates procurement of

replacement supplies and equipment as necessary; makes cost and material estimates; collects data for

preventive maintenance system and maintains activity logs.

Designs, installs and tests gas lines and supply components based equipment pressure and volume

requirements; trains and provides guidance, direction and instruction in plumbing systems; inspects

work performed and assists with recruiting and selection activities. Completes work orders and

reports as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
