### Job Description and Duties

Metropolitan State Hospital is located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County.

The Department of State Hospitals – Metropolitan, Plant Operations, is accepting applications for the Plumber I, Permanent/Fulltime position.

Under the direction of the Plumber Supervisor, the Plumber I conducts the installation, maintenance, inspection and repair of standard plumbing equipment concerned with water, gas, oil, sewage, fire control, steam and refrigeration systems; as well as troubleshoot plumbing systems; install and repair pumps; maintain a plumbing shop; make rough sketches and estimate labor and materials for minor plumbing installation and repair; advise in selection, ordering, and storage of plumbing supplies and equipment; consult with other tradespeople; keep simple records and make reports; and instruct and lead unskilled assistants.

Scheduled Work Hours for AM Shift

* Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM * Saturday - Sunday: Off
