JEVS Human Services

has an exciting opportunity to join the team at our Orleans Technical College as a Plumbing and Heating Instructor. Under the supervision of the Academic Affairs Director, the instructor will be responsible for teaching students through hands-on projects and theory in safety, math, and other basics of plumbing and heating.

Responsibilities

* Provide instruction, as specified in the curriculum, in the basics of plumbing and heating

* Supervise students in hands-on trades tasks

* Provide evaluation of students on hands-on activities

* Provide testing of students’ knowledge of theory

* Prepare curricula materials

• Utilize varying delivery methods and media to keep students engaged with the lesson for the full class day
• Ensure that safety, classroom and school rules are followed consistently and take appropriate measures when they are not

* Ensure that classroom and shop areas are kept clean and orderly

* Maintain student attendance and grade rosters

* Ensure that a professional training environment is maintained in the classroom and shop areas at all times

* Place orders for supplies and materials according to school policy in a timely manner to ensure the smooth progression of instruction

* Perform related duties and assignments as required
