Job Responsibilities

The Plumbing Teacher provides hands-on instruction in plumbing systems, safety procedures, and employability skills while preparing 11th- and 12th-grade students for industry certifications, internships, or post-secondary training.

• Designs and delivers standards-aligned lessons.
• Maintains a safe and organized shop environment.
• Collaborates with industry and school partners.
• Evaluates student progress through practical and academic assessments.
• Works closely with students to build problem-solving skills, technical accuracy, and professional work habits essential to the plumbing trade.
• Maintains strong communication with families, counselors, and industry partners to support student growth and workplace readiness.
• Continuously updates instructional materials and shop equipment to reflect current industry standards and emerging technologies.
• Teaches career and technical skills and knowledge and employability skills to prepare students for the world of work or post-secondary education.
• Instructs pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, in accordance with New York State Learning Standards, general elements of the course of study, as specified in state law, administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
