Journeyman Plumber

Position Summary

Mid-Ohio Contracting Services is seeking an experienced Journeyman Commercial Plumber to join our growing construction team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing systems on active construction projects throughout Central Ohio.

The ideal candidate is a skilled plumber with strong commercial construction experience who can work independently, interpret blueprints, ensure code compliance, and deliver high-quality installations while maintaining project schedules. When not assigned to field projects, this role may assist with prefabrication and modular construction activities at our manufacturing facility to support ongoing operations and workforce development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, storm, and natural gas piping systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, plumbing schematics, and project drawings.
• Perform plumbing layout and installation using copper, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and black iron pipe.
• Cut, thread, solder, braze, groove, and assemble piping systems using industry-standard methods and equipment.
• Independently perform system testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national plumbing codes.
• Coordinate work with project superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, and other trades.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while meeting project deadlines.
• Document work completed, materials utilized, and inspection results.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Mentor apprentice and associate plumbers as needed.
• Work at the modular manufacturing facility between field assignments to assist with prefabrication, modular plumbing installation, and related support activities.
